The John R. Luensman Overview Park is located at the top of the Lake Erie escarpment in the Town of Portland adjoining Thayer Road. There is an incredible view of Lake Erie, the lake plain, villages along the north shore, the Canadian south shore and downtown Buffalo. Maps are mounted on platforms to give you a good idea of what you are viewing

County Trails

Fred J. Cusimano Westside Overland Trail  
The Fred J. Cusimano Westside Overland Trail stretches 24 miles from near the Pennsylvania New York boundary in the Town of Harmony to the south side of the Chautauqua Gorge.
Adirondack lean-tos, latrines, firepits and tables are at campsites along the overland trails. The trails are well marked. Parking is available near or adjoining the trail or waterways at various road crossings. Hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking are permitted on the trail.

Earl Cardot Eastside Overland Trail
The Earl Cardot Eastside Overland Trail extends from the Twenty Eighth Creek Road in the Town of Gerry and proceeds northerly for 19 miles to the Canadaway Creek in the Town of Arkwright.
Adirondack lean-tos, latrines, firepits and tables are at campsites along the overland trails. The trails are well marked. Parking is available near or adjoining the trail or waterways at various road crossings. Hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking are permitted on the trail.

Marden E. Cobb Waterway Trail
The Marden E. Cobb Waterway Trail contains sections of the Cassadaga and Conewango Creeks and together povides 52 miles of generally flat-water canoeing. There are launch sites into the waterwayfrom public property. The map of the waterway indicates facilities for parking and access to the waterways.  Adirondack lean-tos, latrines, firepits and tables are at campsites along the waterways. Parking is available near or adjoining the waterways at various road crossings. Conoeing is permitted on the waterway.
