Caregiver Support Services

Sometimes we become caregivers by choice. Other times, caregiving shows up unexpectedly and finds us. Either way, having support is key to maintaining your own emotional & physical health. It all begins with a conversation. OFA has free, confidential services available to caregivers who are caring for an adult 60 years old or older. Whether you're a daughter who does the grocery shopping for your mother, running errands for a neighbor, or are caring for a spouse with a chronic condition, we're here for you. Caregiver support provides expert information and guidance on in-home service options, support groups & counseling, adult day & respite care and other needs. Just call us to speak with an eldercare advisor, or request an in-person meeting with a care manager who can assess your situation and link you to supportive services. Office For Aging provides the non-biased information you need to make good choices and informed decisions for both you and the person you are caring for.

For more information on services for Caregivers or to speak with someone who can guide you, call the local NY Connects Helpline at 753-4582 or 363-4582 or 661-7582 or search the NY Connect State website. For out of state resources, visit Eldercare Locator.
